Insight Counseling and Wellness Center Psychotherapist
Meet Lauren
With a warm yet direct approach, I create a supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, deepen self-understanding, and build greater self-compassion, resilience, and empowerment. I support individuals with complex mental health challenges to everyday life transitions.
Clients often come to me dealing with:
- anxiety, chronic worry, or panic that won’t quiet down
- depression, emotional numbness, or feeling disconnected from themselves
- feeling like they’ve tried everything and nothing has helped
- grief and loss — of a person, a relationship, an identity, or a life they expected
- identity questions — who they are, what they want, who they’re becoming
- individuals navigating neurodivergent and neurotypical experiences
- low self-worth, perfectionism, or an inner critic that never rests
- trauma — including childhood wounds, relationship trauma, or a single overwhelming event
My Approach:
My approach to therapy is grounded in an understanding that each person exists within a unique social, cultural, and relational context. I recognize that factors such as age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, family dynamics, and lived experiences all shape how we view ourselves and navigate the world. By exploring these intersecting influences, I will strive to provide culturally responsive, affirming care that honors each client’s identity while supporting their growth, healing, and self-discovery.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) – a parts-based approach that helps you understand and befriend the different sides of yourself, especially the ones that feel stuck or out of control
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – helping people develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, tolerating distress, and staying present in their daily lives.
- Mindfulness practices- intentionally bringing awareness to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and without judgment
- Attachment theory- to help clients better understand how relationships and community influence their healing journey
