Insight Counseling and Wellness Center Psychotherapist

Kyle Hommes, LPC

Meet Kyle

I am deeply committed to helping those I work with navigate life’s challenges and discover their inner capacity for healing traumatic memories. With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I have worked with all ages and backgrounds.

Clients often come to me dealing with:

  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Couples and Family issues
  • Depression and mood concerns
  • Men’s issues and life transitions
  • Psychosis and thought disorders
  • Suicidal ideation or emotional crisis
  • Trauma – including childhood wounds

My Approach:

In our work together, you can expect a collaborative, non-judgmental environment where your story is honored and your goals are at the forefront of our sessions. Whether you are seeking to heal from past traumas, improve relationships, or cultivate a greater sense of peace and clarity, I am here to help you move toward a more integrated and fulfilling life.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – a parts-based approach that helps you understand and befriend the different sides of yourself, especially the ones that feel stuck or out of control
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)- physically rewires the brain by unlocking trapped traumatic memories. Using rhythmic eye movements, it mimics REM sleep to calm the brain’s fear center and help process distress

License/Credential: Licensed Professional Counselor

Degree & Institution: Master of Arts in Community Counseling, Denver Seminary

Outside of my role as a therapist, I enjoy camping, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking. My wife Anna (who is also a therapist at Insight Counseling and Wellness Center) and I have 3 wonderful children who keep us busy as well.
