Insight Counseling and Wellness Center Psychotherapist

Hannah Farrell, LCSW

Meet Hannah

What I love most about being a therapist is having the opportunity to witness people reconnect with themselves. I believe therapy isn’t about “fixing” who you are, t’s about understanding yourself more deeply, making sense of your experiences, and creating space for growth.

I work with individuals navigating a variety of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression and mood-related concerns
  • Trauma and its lasting impacts
  • Life transitions and adjustment challenges
  • Body image and self-esteem concerns
  • Difficulties setting boundaries and prioritizing their needs

My work is grounded in person-centered, strengths-based, and somatic approaches to therapy. Drawing on experience in intensive outpatient programs, schools, and community mental health settings, I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative space where clients feel supported in exploring their experiences and moving toward meaningful change.

My approach is informed by:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work, which recognizes that we all have different inner parts that serve important roles in our lives. These may include the part that worries, strives for perfection, shuts down in difficult moments, or longs to feel seen, understood, and safe. •
  • Trauma-informed therapy, which emphasizes safety, empowerment, and healing while honoring the impact of past experiences.
  • Somatic and mindfulness-based practices, which help clients develop greater awareness of the connection between mind and body, build emotional regulation skills, and foster self compassion
  • Strengths-based, person-centered care, which focuses on each client’s inherent resilience, unique strengths, and capacity for growth.

License/Credential: Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Degree & Institution: Master of Social Work, Southern Connecticut State University

Outside of therapy, I love soaking up time in nature, reading, baking sweet treats, and being near the water whenever I can. I’m a proud pet parent to two cats and a dog, and I enjoy making memories with friends and family. You’ll also often find me at a concert or listening to live music!
