"The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, it's connection."

Meet Alicia

Alicia is passionate about helping you feel more content and happiness in your life. She approaches recovery from a trauma-informed lens which asks the question "what happened to you?" instead of "what is wrong with you?"  She appreciates the power of community and is committed to creating a safe, shame-free zone in her groups that will help you find your own self-compassion and realize that you are NOT ALONE.

Getting and staying sober requires the personal desire to implement lasting change in your own life, for yourself and then those around you. This isn’t easy. Initiating sobriety and staying sober requires learning a lot of new skills. This is challenging alone. It helps to find a community you connect with during this journey. Sometimes this feels like the most impossible piece of the puzzle.

We all have unique, funny, scary, and sad stories around why we used, the ups and downs of addiction, and throughout the painful process of finding answers in recovery. Let’s share these stories for ourselves and for others. I invite you to co-create a safe and like-minded place where we can speak our peace, take what is serviceable, and leave the rest.

Addiction comes in many forms. I believe, inherently, all humans experience compulsive behavior. Based on numerous factors, some of us can moderate and others cannot. By nature, we all seek pleasure and avoid the experience of pain, whether it's physical or emotional. It's normal to want to feel good!

For some of us, based on a variety of reasons, our relationship with a substance(s) gets out of control and takes over our lives. This group is for anyone struggling to get, to maintain, to re-evaluate, or seek further support in their journey to recovery.

Whatever the substance is, wherever you are in your journey to recovery, if you are looking for a different support option, please take this powerful first step and connect with me to see if this support group is the right option for you.
