Alexia is a LPC who holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. She is passionate about promoting whole body wellness and healing. She follows a holistic approach working to strengthen the mind-body connection. She strives to develop strong therapeutic relationships and provides a safe space with warmth, encouragement, collaboration, and recognizing your strengths. Her goals are to support you, provide a comforting space to explore yourself, process emotions and experiences, and help you achieve your personal therapy goals.
Alexia’s approaches to therapy include Internal Family Systems informed techniques, mindfulness and somatic practices, person-centered approaches, and she is trained in EMDR. Alexia is passionate about spending time and care in getting to know each client’s individual goals and needs, then tailoring her approach to meet the client where they are at. She works with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Alexia holds a BFA in Modern Dance from Texas Christian University. She also works as a professional dancer and Pilates instructor. As a movement professional, she has unique experience working to strengthen the mind-body connection, listening to the body, and working towards unlocking the wisdom the body holds to provide more harmony between parts of self. She integrates gentle movement in session when appropriate.
