I believe that all people (including you!) have the resources they need to thrive already within themselves. My role is to empower you to move through trauma and life disturbances gently and patiently. This process frees you to transition from just surviving to thriving.
I am a dedicated learner, consistently pursuing continuing education so I can bring you the best and most current approaches to therapy. Trained in both EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 2), I am well equipped to help address the behavioral patterns, thoughts, feelings, body sensations and memories that are causing distress. My approach encourages clients to turn with compassion, courage and curiosity to the parts of themselves that have experienced wounding as well as the parts that strive to prevent any future wounding. Using a non-judgmental, non-pathologizing perspective, Internal Family Systems is able to address trauma in a holistic, gentle way. I have seen amazing transformation in client's lives as they learn to embrace this compassionate approach to themselves.
I am also trained in Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO) which is an approach to couples therapy that utilizes the principles of IFS to help couples heal and grow both together and individually. As partners learn to stay centered instead of being swept away with emotions during a conflict, they are more able to stay connected to their partner and navigate the conflict skillfully. I know that relationships can be the most triggering and overwhelming spaces in our lives. With patience and persistence, your partner can return to being (or for some, become for the first time) your ally.
In my role as Assistant Clinical Director, it is important to me to ensure that I am providing the best possible supervision to my supervisees. Because of this value, I pursued training with Noeticus Counseling Center and Training Institute to become an Approved Clinical Supervisor. I bring a holistic, collaborative and integrative approach to this role that encourages a supportive connection between myself and my supervisees. This allows them to recognize both their strengths and their learning edges, building the confidence and skills they need to blossom into the therapist that they were meant to be.
